Literacy Crisis in the U.S.

Real Students. Real Growth.

Meet three students who’ve made extraordinary gains through DysConnections:

Jadeyn

Jadeyn is a 3rd grader at South Elementary in MISD. She is reading about a year behind grade level expectations. Despite her reading struggles, Jadeyn has made growth in all areas with us over the span of a year.

Kaimren

Kaimren is a 4th grader, reading on a 2nd grade level. He attends South Elementary in MISD and has made a great growth over the span of a year.

Angelina

Angelina is a 4th grader, reading on a 1st grade level, and has been working with us for about a year. Although she faces significant academic struggles, she has shown progress in every single area of our program

Does This Sound Familiar?

  • Your child avoids reading out loud or reading at all

  • They’re smart, but reading doesn’t ‘click’

  • Homework is a nightly battle

  • Teachers say, “let’s wait and see”

  • They confuse letters, struggle with sight words, or can’t spell

WHY TRADITIONAL HELP FAILS?

Struggling to Read Isn’t Just About Grades, It’s About Confidence

Reading difficulties can affect more than report cards. Children who can’t read like their peers often feel ashamed, frustrated, and alone. And parents are left to wonder if they’ve failed them.

You haven’t. But there may be something deeper at play.

Tutoring Isn’t the Answer When the Root Problem Isn’t Addressed

Most reading programs focus on memorization or test prep, but they skip the foundational brain and processing skills required to decode language.

We help uncover the neurological root causes, like dyslexia or processing delays, so your child can finally learn to read in a way that works for them.

OUR SOLUTION

A New Approach to Reading That Starts With Understanding

In our free class, we’ll teach you the science-backed approach that helps children go from struggling readers to confident ones, often in just weeks.

We offer virtual, therapist-led intervention that’s backed by research.

  • Structured programs designed for dyslexic and struggling readers

  • Taught by Certified Academic Language
Therapists (CALTs), not high school tutors

  • Customized to your child’s learning needs, pace, and confidence level

  • Proven results with progress updates every 6 weeks

But before we invite you, we need to understand what your child is going through.

Here’s How It Works

We Make It Simple to Start, And Easy to Stick With

  1. Book a free assessment

  2. Based on the results of the assessment we match them with the right class

  3. Sessions begin virtually, 2 or 4 times a week

  4. Families are provided access to our resource hub

  5. Regular progress checks are completed every 6 weeks

Choose small group of 3 or 4 or a 1:1 session based on your child’s needs and your schedule.

What OTHER Parents Are Saying

Angela

Jennifer

Emily Segura

Dysconnections has been an integral part of my daughter’s growth in reading since she began over the summer. Our daughter went from scoring at low achievement in May to scoring at high achievement and growth at the beginning of the school year in August! She was recognized for mastering concepts in reading just last week! She has tutoring via zoom twice a week with Ms. Julie and it has been a great experience. Thank you, Dysconnections!

Melva Ramos

Dysconnections has been such a blessing for not only my son but for mom and dad too! My son is eager to join the classes, he happily sets up his learning area for the day and as a mom who constantly struggles for her son to do anything reading or writing related to hear the laughter and the happiness in his voice when he is answering correctly or understanding is just absolute JOY for me! I am so so grateful for Mrs. Bridger introducing me to Dysconnections!

Megan Myatt

Dysconnections has been a blessing to our family! We have loved the flexibility of the zoom classes. More importantly, my daughter is now reading independently and enjoying it! She loves her tutor Mrs. Julie and has formed a friendship with her classmate. The lessons are challenging, but still engaging and fun! I would highly recommend it!

Still Got Questions?

Your Questions Answered: Quick Insights Into Our Educational Support Services.

Why do I need to book a call first?

The call helps us understand your child’s unique needs and goals so we can match them with the right therapist and approach. It’s also your chance to ask questions and make sure we’re the right fit for your family before getting started.

What is the class about?

It’s a one-on-one session with one of our Certified Academic Language Therapists. Your child will work through engaging reading activities while we assess their skills in areas like decoding, fluency, and comprehension. You’ll get insight into their strengths, challenges, and possible next steps.

How long is the call?

Most calls take about 30–45 minutes. We keep it focused, but leave time for you to share details, ask questions, and feel confident moving forward.

What age group does Dysconnections cater to?

DysConnections typically supports children ages 5 to 12. However, if your child is performing at a skill level within that range, we may still be a good fit. Every student begins with an initial assessment to ensure we’re the right match and to identify the best way to support their learning journey.

How do you tailor education plans for each student?

We begin with a comprehensive assessment to understand your child’s current reading and language skills. From there, our therapists create a personalized learning plan tailored to their unique strengths and challenges. Each session is built around this plan and adjusted regularly to reflect your child’s progress and needs.

Can Dysconnections help with severe learning disabilities?

Yes — we specialize in supporting children with a wide range of learning differences, including dyslexia, ADHD, and other language-based challenges. Our therapists use evidence-based, multi-sensory instruction to help students make meaningful progress — no matter where they’re starting from.

Is this a sales pitch?

Nope. The purpose of the call is to listen, understand your child’s needs, and explain how we can help. You’ll never feel pressured to sign up.

What if I already know my child is dyslexic?

That’s totally fine. We’ll skip the guessing and focus on understanding where they are now, so we can tailor their support. Our therapists are trained to work specifically with students with dyslexia and other reading challenges.

Is this for parents or kids?

The call is for parents so we can understand your child’s background and goals. The class is for kids, so they can experience our approach first-hand and we can see how they respond to it.

Are there resources available for parents to help their children at home?

Absolutely. Our therapists are here not just for your child, but for you as well. They’re available outside of session times to answer questions, share strategies, and offer support. You’ll also have access to tools like Google Classroom, where we organize resources and materials to reinforce learning at home.

What technologies are used to assist in learning?

We use Zoom for our virtual sessions and Google Classroom to keep materials organized and accessible for families. We also incorporate WordWall — a fun and interactive app — to reinforce reading and spelling concepts in a multisensory, engaging way.

How do you measure the progress of students?

Every six weeks, we complete a formal progress measure to assess your child’s growth in areas like decoding, fluency, spelling, and comprehension. You’ll receive a detailed report outlining their progress, what’s working, and what we’ll focus on next. Our therapists are also available to meet if you’d like to talk through the report or ask questions.
